5 /5 Casey Campbell: Im compelled to leave a review after reading some reviews here that I believe are either disingenuous or fake (Ill get to that at the end).
First Ill address Mikes review, which is what spurred me to leave a review at all. He says the owner doesnt do good deeds- thats entirely false. My family has been going through a rough patch, and the owner gave us enough clothes for free for my growing son that we wont have to buy clothes for at least six months. And these werent just the clothes she couldnt sell for a tax write-off. These are quality, name brand clothes. So just because Mike didnt see it with his own eyes, doesnt mean that shes not giving back- she absolutely is.
The other thing mentioned is pricing. Most things are priced under $10. A thrift store wont stay in business at yard sale prices anymore- finding stuff in a store for a quarter just doesnt happen anymore.
Then theres Janets really bizarre review. She says theres not enough "exotic" stuff (whatever that means?). Riverside Resale isnt just for people like her that come out to the gorge a couple of times a year, as she says. Its for the communities in Stevenson and Carson to have affordable goods year round like kitchen supplies and clothes. Not candles during tourist season. And to that end, I think this store does a great job.
Lastly the reason I think those reviews are fake or exaggerated- neither Mike not Janet has other reviews listed. And they both left one star. Usually one star reviews are saved for when an owner does something REALLY bad, which neither claimed an example of. And it really says a lot about Mike and Janet (if they are real) if tearing down a woman-owned, independent, community-oriented business is how they want to spend their time. So dont believe the negativity folks. The fact that the good reviews outweigh the bad says a lot.
