5 /5 Megan McInnis (Lava Toad): A charming, bright, cheerful boutique, beautifully organized; the store and the staff are delightful! Because of this store, I learned the difference between “thrift” and “secondhand”—and since this store is the latter, all of the stock is thoughtfully chosen and in great condition; there’s nothing worn out or shabby here. Supposedly, secondhand stores have higher prices than do thrift stores, but in this shop that’s not necessarily true. For example, it seems that every T-shirt at Visiting Nurses is $6.99 regardless of condition or quality, but The Cluttered Closet has some nearly new T-shirts at $3 each. Others are $8.99 or $10.99, depending on quality, but I appreciate that each one is priced as discriminatingly as it is chosen.
The only difference I would like to see in this store would be having everything within a size range grouped secondarily by color. I have to admit that the way the different colors are sprinkled randomly throughout adds to the cheery look of the store, but for me it makes things slightly harder to find.
That’s my only complaint, and it’s a tiny one—obviously not enough to affect my rating. A lovely store! Highly recommended.
