My wife and I run a small motel in Friday Harbor and he is the only one we would ever recommend if a guest was in need of mobile maintenance. Abigail Rose Absolutely rude people, not helpful at all. Came in to have my code read and they refused to help me (even though I was there first) and they decided to help the customers that came in after me first. Guy at the front desk was very snotty and claimed he was the only one there even though there were 2 other women just standing there (clearly able to help). The guy told me to wait outside for him whenever he’s ready and I came back in 5 minutes later and he asked me “how can I help you” as if he totally forgot who I was and what I needed. I was think kicked out of the store for being “rude” even though they were rude to begin with and I was responding with their level of ignorance.

L G Thank you Robert for making a “house call” on short notice to replace the AGM battery in my Porsche. Battery swaps not so simple nowadays. He brought the right scanner to register the battery to the engine mgmt system so the battery charging profile would be correct. Highly recommended

Bruce McTavish Excellent Service! I called Allen Auto Repair, and Robert happened to be in Roche Harbor, 6 minutes from our location. He drove straight to us and diagnosed the problem, at night in the dark. He then ordered parts, but wrong parts came, then he drove off island to get the right parts. Came back to our location, did the repairs, and my truck runs fine. Yes this all took about 4 days. Were stuck on an island with no parts local. We were on vacation, from Canada, and stuck with a Check Engine light on, and the truck running in Limp mode with no power. My other option was towing the truck to Burlington. Robert did everything he could to help us out, and then followed up several days later to make sure that we had gotten home and the truck was still running fine, which it is. I Highly recommend Allen Auto Repair.

Larry Wight Greg is amazing. He did the tricky job of repairing the dashboard. In replacing fuel filters he knew that there was one filter under the hood that I was unaware of. He worked hard and fast and even gave me a ride home. I am already planning for service on my Honda Civic.

Katya moghadam Greg is the best! My old 2006 Subaru Outback had taken its last breaths and he was somehow able to bring her back to life for a very reasonable price. He did some amazing diagnostic while keeping the expense low to figure estimate a repair cost. It needed a new timing belt and had 3 bent valves- he even ordered a new borescope to save me a 6k engine job and check if holes in the pistons would have made it unsalvageable. It’s running great and best of all Greg is just an awesome person to interact with, he communicate and checks in during each step of the process, took the time to walk me through some mechanical stuff that was over my head and explain what the issues were, and even offered to help me drive her home on pickup. I rarely have such positive experiences with me automotive repair places and am so happy to have found such a skilled and knowledgeable person on the island for any future work that needs to be done.

Carol Merrifield I recently contacted A1Auto on San Juan Island, and the entire experience was great. Once I made the appointment, I needed to call them for questions prior to the appointment date. He always answered the phone, was friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable, and I will definitely be taking my car there for service in the future.

Dahlis Crafter Reasonable price for an oil change, and he didnt try to sell me on extra services. Very happy he actually took me out into the garage and showed me on my car what was wrong, too. Pretty quick service for what I was going in for.
