Tacoma Curly Salon - Tacoma Madeline Ingram: I was hesitant to write this review, but I ultimately decided to share my experience so that others can make an informed decision. Unfortunately, my visit to this salon was disappointing.
When I first arrived, I was greeted by a stylist who was warm and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, my interaction with the stylist assigned to do my hair felt awkward. She did not introduce herself and immediately asked, “What do you want to do?” without any further consultation or effort to establish rapport.
Throughout the haircut, I noticed several concerns. The stylist frequently brushed my hair around in a way that caused it to hit my face, and there were moments when she pulled on my hair, which was uncomfortable. While I understand that minor discomfort can happen during a haircut, these actions were never acknowledged or followed by an apology, making it seem as though she was unaware of how she was handling my hair.
I did opt for a junior stylist, so I had reasonable expectations, but I believe basic professionalism and attention to detail should be standard for all stylists. When the master stylist came over to check my haircut, I expected her to ensure everything was even and well-executed. However, once I got home, I realized my hair was noticeably uneven, as shown in the attached picture. The face-framing pieces were even more inconsistent, and I feel the photo doesn’t fully capture just how poorly the cut was done.
Overall, I am very disappointed—not just with the haircut itself but also with the lack of care and professionalism I experienced. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend this salon for curly cuts and would advise others to seek services elsewhere.
Lux Salon & Spa - Tacoma Katie Lodge: I had so much fun at Lux! I was welcomed by the nicest people at the front desk, other stylists stopped to say hi, even the other clients were friendly. Very cool vibe.
Franky is outstanding! I found my forever stylist for sure.
I loved my long hair, but it looked kinda lifeless. I wasn’t sure what I wanted, but Franky listened to what was important to me (keeping the length and get some volume). I left everything up to him and I seriously ended up with the world’s best haircut. I don’t know how he did it, but my hair looks 10 years younger. I can’t recommend Franky highly enough!
Le Fleur Salon - Tacoma teresa rollins: Alison has done my hair for 4 years now and I wouldnt go anywhere else! As a hairdresser myself I have a hard time trusting others. She is a consummate professional who gives an excellent consultation and executes her craft exquisitely!
Hairspace - Tacoma Angie Cox: I have been seeing Stephanie for about 10 years and have been very happy! The salon is beautiful. I love the new remodel! The colors and design fit the space perfectly. All of the staff is really nice. I always feel welcome!
Left Coast Salon - Tacoma Cynthia Wilson: I have seen Heather for many years at a different salon and was happy to come and see her at Left Coast because she’s the best! And I’m so happy for the move because Left Coast is such a great salon. The atmosphere is very warm and relaxed, I loved the decor and the open space. Everyone there was super kind, and they truly take care of and know how to work with all hair types. Highly recommend!
Luminaire Beauty Lounge - Tacoma Teresa Mccoy: This salon is beautiful and i really NEVER trusted anyone with my hair. When getting hair extensions, its important to make sure your stylist is experienced and certified. Coretha is so welcoming and really takes her time to answer any questions. Its amazing the compassion she has for her line of work, & the way she cares about her clients and the integrity of every hair type. . Not to mention The products used smells aaaaamazing! Coretha is so beautiful and so fun to talk too, she literally walks every single person out to their car when finished to make sure their safe…. Absoultely just the SWEETEST!!!!!

House of Her Salon - Tacoma Mia Mohr McCulley: Alex has been doing my hair for a few years now. She’s the only person I’ll allow to touch my hair. Not only is she great at coloring but also great at curl maintenance and helping me make sure I’m using the right products to keep my curls up.
Raven Hair Studio - Tacoma Heather Mahler: I absolutely love this studio! I go and see Katie for my color and she is beyond amazing! She always nails every look I’m trying to go for. What’s even more amazing is that everyone else recognize me even when I’m not their client and they all work together and help each other in perfect harmony! You will not be disappointed!
Chemel Salon - Tacoma Nadia Raj: Super friendly and welcoming salon. Amanda cut my hair today and gave me the exact look I wanted. She also gave great insight and suggestions for my specific hair type. All around, awesome and fun to talk with! Ill definitely be coming back.
Supernova Barber Shop Supernova Hair Salon - Tacoma Bella T: As a former hairstylist, I’ve had a lot of stylists cut my hair and no one has EVER cut my hair like Jana! I grew up with pin straight hair until my 20s when the front got curly. Jana cut my hair in a way that enhanced and evened out the different textures in my hair and I’m OBSESSED! Not to mention the fact that she wasn’t afraid to do short layers and gave me the shag of my dreams (that every other stylist I talked to said wasn’t possible). The other stylists I’ve met there are also lovely and very talented. It’s one of the few places I’d consider a safe place with genuine people. I could go on about my experience, but I would recommend them to anyone looking for a salon that’s educated on alternative hair.
