5 /5 Michelle Timian: A beautiful park with a guided walkway through the history of the expulsion of Chinese residents of Tacoma. Very beautifully and thoughtfully done. The park is very gorgeous, with lots of benches facing the Sound.

5 /5 Carina Jahn: This is a beautiful park and it is educational as it teaches visitors about the history of Chinese Americans who lived in the area and the hardships and prejudices they faced. It is good places like this exist to educate the public. Also, in addition to the aspect of it teaching with informational signage throughout, the park itself is beautiful. It is very well cared for and the flowers and trees are beautiful. This is a good place to take a stroll, learn history, and enjoy the beauty of the area.

Tacoma Narrows Bridge -

R. Scherer: Im rating this bridge and area based on it history. I had the pleasure of bringing my kids across the second Tacoma Narrows Bridge nicknamed Sturdy Gertie when they still used wind socks and flashing lights to warn you of the dangerous winds after the first bridge, Galloping Gertie was ripped apart during 40-mile per hour winds, leaving parts of it in the 200 depths of the torrential currents below. Theres a story of a Giant Pacific Octopus nicknamed Gertie living amongst the wreckage of Galloping Gertie in the waters below the 2nd bridge. My kids had just watched a historical documentary movie their great uncle had on Galloping Gertie, and they complained the whole way across that it was going to fall! Now, with the new suspension bridge, there are tolls, how times have changed.

Clover Connections: Intoxicating experience when all of the roses are in bloom. I dont think youll ever see another garden with more varieties! Lovely gazebo in the middle. Roses are labeled with the variety names. Free! And free parking nearby if you can find it.

Jessica Seyster: Great family outing. Lots of kids, lots of shade, lots of places to have a picnic or lay out. Lots of fun. Spray park with bathrooms, lots of grass, a playground and snow cones. Fun family time.

Pioneer Park - puyallup - Puyallup

Val Jesus Virgen: Perfect spot for a 3 year old birthday party right between the playground and the spray park with the restrooms nearby too. Such a beautiful day at the park! First time here but can imagine the fun to be had when there is entertainment at the pavilion. If you’re looking for parking, start at the library- it’s free! Just across the street you’ll find food trucks for some delicious treats! Definitely have to come back to enjoy this gem in the city!
