5 /5 Allie Hanford: I dont normally write reviews, but I was so impressed by my visit that Im making an exception. I had my cleaning today, and from the moment I walked in, it felt like I was on the TV show Cheers. The receptionist greeted me by my name. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, and they even offered me refreshments!  My hygienist was super friendly, but even more importantly, she was gentle yet thorough.  Dr. Derek took the time to answer questions and explain everything he was doing. I never felt like he was rushed, which is so rare these days. I havent ever enjoyed going to the dentist, but I can honestly say this was an enjoyable experience, and Im looking forward to my next cleaning. If youre shopping for a new dentist, I highly recommend going to Whidbey Dental Associates.

5 /5 Karly Ploghoft: I’ve never written a review but just wanted to say that I had a dental emergency with infected teeth and got in almost right away. Mariah, one of the assistant’s, helped me and was calming and helped me feel so much better after I got overwhelming news. Beautiful facility and all around great environment.

1 /5 Christine Ann Childs: I used to go to this dental practice a few years ago however I left due to unhappiness. My husband however stayed. My husband and I have dealt with nothing but issues from this practice. Their billing practices leave a lot to be desired. They typically will come back and say you still owe more money even though they have ran the insurance and given us an estimate. This occurs all too often. My husband had seen an older dentist there and he was rather rough with my husbands mouth and wanted to do nothing but speak about cows and talk about why hes so late because he was working on the farm. So my husband switch to a different doctor. He had a hygienist there named Adrian who is absolutely wonderful. However, he was then told Adrian would not be his dental hygienist and he would have to see someone new. We fought to get Adrian back and luckily for my husband Adrian became his dental hygienist again. The other issue my husband has had is that every single time he goes into the dental office fluoride is pushed on him. He explain multiple times that he does not want it and yet he felt as if he was talked into it, essentially being sold a product that he did not want. He ended up having the fluoride against his better judgment. They said it would be covered with his insurance and then it turned out it wasnt covered so we had to pay out of pocket. Granted it was only $35 but its the principal. Today he decided to fire his dentist and hygienist because he received a call at 9:50 in the morning stating that they had an opening for cleaning with Adrian. I called them back at 10:50 and they said " oh, sorry. The doctor took another patient in that slot ". That was the straw that broke the camels back for my husband. When I called to cancel his cleaning today with a different hygienist I also explain that my husband is going to be seeing a new dentist. Julies response? " Oh, okay ". She was very cavalier about it and very nonchalant. She clearly didnt care that they were losing a patient in their practice. As a healthcare provider of 28 years Im actually appalled by this. If I had a patient that called with these concerns I would have notified the physician first and let them decide whether or not they wanted to call the patient back and try to make things better, but that did not occur in this situation. It honestly feels like they dont care. My biggest complaint? Theyre billing practices. So if youre a new patient, just be aware that even though they do insurance estimates you will probably owe more money than what they estimate. When we saw Dr. Bethards in Anacortes, this never happened. They did the insurance estimate properly and we were never ever ever build additional monies. This is the first practice we have ever run into this with. Good riddance!

5 /5 suzanne phay: My whole family has had wonderful dental care at Whidbey Dental Associates. The front desk is friendly and helpful, our hygienist, Rich, is so great at explaining everything and very thorough. Our kids see Hope and my husband and I see Derek. But we have worked with Jared and Doug as well, who are also great. You can’t go wrong.They are kind and gentle and patient. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

5 /5 J Leight: I can’t say enough about how amazing my experience has been. I’ll start with the front office. Always cheerful, inviting and a total pleasure to converse with. Tech Jon is a friggen hoot to boot. Cara and Chelsea are absolute angels and Dr Derek has consistently provided me with the absolute top quality care. He’s included me in every decision regarding my treatment since day one. My dental makeover has been a long process but the results have been fantastic and as someone with severe dental trauma, he’s executed the utmost compassion and dedication to my comfort. I’ve had two surgical extractions, one crown, all my silver fillings replaced and two dental implants. I’m so thankful for this practice and recommend them to everyone Jeanette
