1 /5 Brandy Pickard: Last night 12/20/25 Ross on mill plain in Vancouver, I was doing some late last minute Christmas shopping because I’m a mom of 3 and my husband is a welder, so he finally got a day off and got the kids to sleep for me s I could sneak away to grab stocking stuffers. First off I want to start by saying that I’ve been a customer at this Ross for YEARS and have never had anything but good things to say until now. So while I’m finishing up my shopping last night out of the blue I am approached by loss prevention and told to grab my purse and leave. Now my first thought is that it has to be because I’m shopping with my purse in the cart, I have a bad shoulder and can’t be lugging it around all day so I had it placed inside the cart so I immediately pulled it out to show him, look, I’m not taking anything, he proceeds to tell me “yup grab your purse you can go”, I again ask for a reason and am told I don’t need one. Not even two seconds later he is on his earpiece talking to someone and says “oh okay never mind you can go ahead” Now I’m really confused, so I asked him why he would approach me like that and his response was, “well you can leave now since you wanna keep talking” and took my cart! So I begin to record this guy taking my cart with my kids items in them and he says “I can record too”, I said please do! Please record my purse with nothing in it and explain why I am be treated this way! At which point he decided to put his phone away and proceed to take my items. I had to leave in tears and send a friend back in to purchase my items that I’d spent so much time shopping for, and for absolutely nothing. Even when he realized that he was wrong he never apologized he just continued to treat me like trash and humiliate me in front of the entire store. Mind you, I have seen this same man multiple times removing people from the store that were actually stealing and he treated those people so much better than he treated me last night. So after leaving I called the store back to try to speak with a manager, same man answered the phone and said that he was the manager and that his name was Chris. When I asked aren’t you the loss prevention guy that just did this, I got hung up on! Completely unprofessional and shocking behavior. There’s a fine line when it comes to discrimination and harassment, approaching a young mom and aggressively telling her to leave and grabbing her cart without a reason and continuing to disrespect her after realizing that you were wrong is INSANE and it felt horrible being treated by a man that way without my husband there. It’s the holidays, treating anyone that way in general even if you thought that I was homeless or an addict or a thief is completely unacceptable and considering the fact that I’m none of those makes it all that much more hurtful. I have video that will be going to corporate asap
