2 /5 Shelly Hanson: I’ve always enjoyed going in to Standard Goods. Great products, fun vibe. The salesperson today though was just a personality minus. I asked if I could set some fragile ornaments on the counter while I continued to shop, and she acted like I asked if I could pull her teeth. The whole purchase interaction was just really unpleasant. I felt like I was doing her a favor by shopping there. I had brought my own bag, and was waiting for her to wrap up the ornaments and clothing and put them in the bag. Instead, she just said, “do you need something else”?. Which was apparently my cue to be bag up my own stuff and get the hell out of there without a thank you for shopping with us or anything. I just left wondering, “what just happened”? Was that a shopping experience? I guess? But definitely not a pleasant one. I spent $160 and wish I would have spent it elsewhere.
I went down the street to another store and had the exact opposite experience- super friendly and helpful, and even got a bonus gift with purchase. Will also be reviewing that store.
Sorry Standard Goods, need to do a better job vetting your sales people.
