Dungeness River Nature Center - Sequim (WA)

5 /5 Ida Emry: Very impressive nature center built 2 years ago by the Jamestown SKlallam Tribe. Exhibits inside and then walk across the old railroad bridge trestle which leads to the Olympic discovery trail that continues all the way to the Pacific Coast. 300,000 Pink salmon spawn there in the summer in odd years. The dungeness river is below the bridge. Lots of bicycling along the trail too.

5 /5 thenobarnfarm acme: We were really happy to find this neat little place. The trail went on forever a nice paved path which is perfect for walking or biking. Lots of people out enjoying it. Great view of the river and all the natural surroundings. I enjoyed seeing all the native plants and then afterwards they had a great little gift shop and a great place to take the kids to see the animals that are inside, taxidermy animals. Like always in a place like this its always great to drop in a little donation to keep it going and keep it funded.

5 /5 Leanna Guenther: This museum is small, but clean and nice. The river and bridge behind it with the bike and walking trail makes it a beautiful place to enjoy. Some people were even happily splashing in the water while we were there. We even returned another day to ride our bikes on the trail there and had a very enjoyable experience.

5 /5 Meryl McQueen: A great stop-off for an informative overview of the local environment. Taxidermy is not everyone’s thing, but the center does have an impressive and well-displayed collection and it’s definitely educational. The walk across the bridge and the rain garden are beautiful no matter what the weather—and in this neck of the woods, in the rain shadow, it’s bound to be sunny. Jump in the river on a hot day for an added bonus!
