New Dungeness Lighthouse - (WA)

5 /5 Joodie Klinke: Best time to go = weekday, extreme low tide, sunny. Easy walk, even though 11 miles, due to the low tide and packed sand. Wonderful views from the lighthouse tower. Picnic tables, public restroom, and water are all available on the grounds.

5 /5 Alex Bennett: Unfortunately I only made it 7.5 miles before turning back around, sure is pretty with Mt Baker right behind it! Parking is at "Dungeness Spit Trail", its on maps, and its free to get to the parking lot. They ask that you pay $3 in an envelope to enter the beach area. The hike to the lighthouse is very, very long. Its rock and sand, with tons of logs along the way. I thought Id just walk the waters edge where the sand is compacted, but I couldnt as the waves were quite large and I didnt want to get wet. So 7.5 miles in sand was no fun but it was still a beautiful hike to where I got!

5 /5 Scott: Didnt make it all the way out to the lighthouse. Went to the beach on the recommendation of a park ranger at Olympic national Park. He said it was the longest sandbar in North America and was the best view of the park and mountains. He was not wrong. Recommend going at low tide otherwise the beach wont be very acceptable and you wont be able to do the long walk out to the lighthouse.

5 /5 Caleb Aguilar: This was the first time that I had ever been inside the lighthouse also went to the top which was amazing. What a great experience that I had and exploring the bay views of the beautiful ocean and beach. I would come back again soon one day.
