4 /5 Craig Bellavance: I spent an enjoyable and educational two hours strolling through the fort’s buildings and gardens. “Workers” in the kitchen, blacksmith shop, and carpenter shop were practicing their crafts but were not too busy to chat about life in the fort in the 19th century. Fruit and vegetables grown on site today seem to indicate that the soldiers, workers, and their families ate well two centuries ago. And, with grapes and hops also growing at the fort, they got their beverages too.
