This didn’t go well, the whole time I heard about how “my hair is hard to deal with” and that she “ would never do her sisters hair willingly because it was coarse and curly like mine”.
Well I went and had it looked at and updated at Legacy hair co. Recently, my new stylist at LEGACY HAIR CO. was pretty astounded to see black dye( which I don’t have) in black sections in the back of my head. It took me over 400$ just to fix Diane’s mistakes. I won’t be coming back. I highly recommend Legacy hair company if you want a place to be detail oriented about your hair especially with curly or coarse hair!
Harbor Moon Salon - Bellingham Birthe McKeon: Worst experience ever - HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
Lets just start with the owner, Glen, throwing F-bombs left and right while working with his client (Im so glad I didnt have my kiddo tag along). The salon itself is disgustingly grimey (I realize its old but its lacking any minimal standard of clean). Stylist Kiva was forgiving at first for my late arrival (she didnt check the voicemail I left as a heads up) but did a really bad job on my hair. Instead of blonde highlights I now have patches of solid blonde and my scalp was burning when the bleach bled out of the foil. I told Kiva that my hair color takes a long time to lift to a true blonde and still, my hair has a clear orange tint to it. I sat in the chair for 3! hrs for a partial w/o cut or blow dry...an hr longer than with other stylists having more services.
Follow up appointment: I call to confirm while on my way to the salon, Kiva tells me shed call me back in a minute....no callback and when I get to the salon she had left. Whaaat?? Who does that?
The owner, eloquent Glen (remember F-bombs seem acceptable in his business), said he cant talk to me and asked if I want to send him an email. Nope, I chose this platform for my customer feedback.
Lux Salon - Bellingham Julia Mickelson: I can’t rave about Tricia enough! My 5 year old and I both got our hair cut this weekend and she did AMAZING for both of us. She was great with my daughter when she was a little nervous, and even gave her chalk hair paint at the end, which made her day. I got over 6 inches off, so I was a little nervous, but I’m so happy with it! I will definitely be going back
Mains Hair Studio - Bellingham Chris Boyd: I always have an amazing experience at Mains Hair Studio with Heath! From the moment I walk in, he makes me feel welcome and takes the time to understand exactly what I want. His attention to detail and precision are top-notch, and I walk out with a great haircut every time. You can tell he takes pride in his work and truly cares about his clients. The atmosphere is great, the conversation delightful, and the whole experience top-tier. Highly recommend booking with Heath—you won’t be disappointed!
The Grotto Hair & Skin Care Studio - Bellingham Mira Swiecicki: Jess was so great! She fixed a bad haircut, even though it was short and she had little to work with! Took the time to really evaluate it and teach me some styling tricks. Restored my confidence with her skilled cut!
Cordata Hair - Bellingham Rowan Gabriel Jones: Ti did fabulous job on my hair. I am particular about my hair and this was the first time that I had gone to her for a cut. I gave her a few key points about what I was looking for and she delivered like it was one swipe of the scissors. Ive also gone to the young man who works at Cordata Hair and he does an excellent job, as well. He seems to do well with young mens cuts, in particular, and I see Ti work more often with women, but she obviously does a great job with mens cuts, too! Cordata Hair is where I am going for haircuts from now on and I will tell everyone I know to go and see them!
Todays Style Hair Salon - Bellingham Amber Lauff: I genuinely wanted to like this place, especially given all of the positive reviews and the great prices, but I walked out of there today with one of the worst haircuts I have ever had. I came in mainly wanting my hair thinned out and looking to get a little bit of length off. My stylist and I discussed and talked about CHIN LENGTH--She even took her fingers and showed me exactly where and I was excited we were on the right page and she seemed to know what I wanted. Fast forward to my hair now being at ear length (at least two inches shorter than discussed) and just looking like it mushrooms out from the top. I have very thick hair so tend to avoid cuts that will cause my hair to thicken up at the bottom while staying thinner up top..its just not a good look for anyone.
When I commented that my hair had turned out a lot shorter than we discussed , my stylist just kept telling me how cute it was over and over. At one point even saying "But its cute right?" So knowing shed messed up, but hoping the cuteness would make it okay.
Now I have this effectively blunt, mushroom-y, too short cut and I honestly just want to avoid going out in public until its able to grow back in a little. Im hoping I can find ways to style it or somehow salvage it with a different salon, but Im kind of devastated.
I will say, Ruby was not my stylist and I know shes gotten a lot of positive reviews so perhaps the experience with her is better. Im not willing to find out and will not ever be returning.
Argyle Salon - Bellingham Grace Henderlite: The plants are stunning and the atmosphere is really welcoming! I would definitely recommend Argyle Salon, and specifically Nicholas! I had a haircut appointment with him yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with how my hair turned out! It looks and feels so healthy! He explained the products he was using and showed me easy techniques that I can use to style my side bangs, which I really appreciated!
Beauty Collective - Bellingham Debbie: Miranda and Sam are the best! Have never been disappointed with a haircut here. They are both very personable too! Been coming here for 5 years
Plum Hair Studio - Bellingham Tc: Lexi is so talented, she did exactly what my 14 year old daughter asked for! She does a great consultation before starting and is very easy to communicate with, she’s also so super sweet. I’m going to go to her next time for my highlights!
