04-2025 Kyle Walsh, MD in Best 15 MEDICAL SERVICES near Mount Vernon, WAIsland Health - Anacortes J Anerson: Fell on ice in my driveway at 8:00 p.m. taken in by ambulance. The care was good the exray tech and Dr B.and nurse was good. They diagnosed a pelvic fracture. My pain was unbearable. At 3:00 a.m. they said you gotta go. My wife and I explained that our steep drive was frozen over and wed parked up on the road which caused all this. We asked can I at least stay until morning when we can have our driveway plowed. The nurse said Nope. Were not a motel. So my wife got a motel and helped me get in the hallway to the room. Shes tiny compared to me. So We feel they treated us like homeless folks looking for a place for the night. We live 10 minutes from the hospital but next time we wont go back to Island Hospital. I called in today. Ive been trying to see an orthopedic surgeon since last Thursday. Bellingham said the 18th. I asked why so far out. They said Island reported on my check out I didnt have to much problem putting weight on my hip. B.S. my pain was A 10+ out of 10. The Dr .and aid knew that. My next step is getting the check out report. Im adding to my original review from my February 5th ER visit. 2 days in a motel as our driveway was frozen over, we got our driveway plowed. Called a couple orthopedic surgeons who said there 9-14 days out. No pain medicine left and no one would refill without seeing me. 3 days at home and back to the ER. Not Island. They redid my scan. Verified I had a pelvic fracture. And know pneumonia. They were appalled that I was sent home at 3:30 in the morning. 3 days in hospital physical therapy already started and any after care set up. All Island health responds with is, call our quality number. Im not done reporting there negligence.
Skagit Regional Health - Mount Vernon Surgery Center Ear, Nose and Throat - Mount Vernon Rebecca Redshaw: I received three emails to remind me to schedule an appointment. It had been a year since I had my original check-up. The audiologist conducting the test was excellent and professional. When I met the doctor, he hadnt bothered to look at her results (I asked what the difference was between the two tests) and told me that if they did these tests every year "all wed be doing is these tests." He made me feel like I was wasting his time. I am not inclined to return to this office.
David Abraham, DO - Mount Vernon Deb Caldwell: I am new to Skagit County and have a complicated medical history. I chose Dr. Abraham and setup a new patient appointment. I was impressed by Dr. Abraham’s knowledge of my 40+ year history, along with his knowledge across multiple systems and health issues created as a result of prior treatments. He did not rush the appointment and let me know his follow-up plan. The follow-up and directions for further care have been excellent.

Mountain View Veterinary Clinic - Mount Vernon Jessica Johnson: I have been coming to Mountain View for over a decade now. Their vets, and staff, are nothing short of amazing. My 15 year old dachshund, with IVDD since 2012, passed away recently. They always handled her with such care. I left her appointments with confidence. Having another senior dachshund is a bit scary, but I know she’s in the best hands with Dr. Sargent, and his team.

He listened to my complaints of aches and pains in my hip, and did the appropriate imaging to confirm his diagnosis before proceeding with surgery. His manner was pleasant, his CV was flawless, and most importantly, the outcome of my surgery has been amazing. Friends, family, and neighbors are shocked and amazed at how well I was walking just a day after surgery and beyond. I recommend Dr. Willis to anyone needing hip or knee replacement surgery without reservation. In fact, I recommend him with enthusiasm!
Skagit Radiology, Inc. - Business Office - Mount Vernon Mikel Peabody: A V O I D this group! Sadly - excellent patient experience but the WORST billing dept & policies we have dealt w/ in years. We were contacted by phone ONE time, at which time I was hoslitalized. The secondary number they had, my husband’s, was actually INCORRECT. They called that wrong # ONE time. They proceeded to send bills via mail, we had told them we do not receive our mail and have reported that often; and we had told them upfront repeatedly: we need paperless only. Their response to that reminder, AFTER they sent us to collection LOL: “we don’t do email, and we only call once.” They could’ve told us that upfront when we asked for paperless. They could have confirmed our ph #s under such stringent policies. The bill was for $16. And they sent it to collections without trying to contact us a second time. LAAAZY billing department. And despite being polite when I called to resolve - as it was THEIR oversight to not contact us as we’d discussed - we were smugly and flippantly dismissed. So. If you PAY your bills - you are STILL at risk of getting reported to collections w this group. AVOID!
College Way Animal Hospital, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner - Mount Vernon Amelia Taylor: I will definitely bring my dog here again. Dr. Buck and his staff were all amazing. They explained everything to me so well. I am a dog groomer, and I understand the reason for taking the pet away from the pet parent to do the exam. Believe me, dogs are so much more well behaved at the vet away from the parent. He gave my dog Wally an exam. Gave me reasonable medications. I bathed Wallys foot, put the ointment on. I fed Wally his antibiotics and allergy meds in a piece of banana. Super easy. Wally is asleep right now doing well. Dr. Beck is a doctor you can trust with your dog. I highly recommend Dr. Beck and his staff. Im so happy I found a good place to take my baby!
Animal Care Center - Mount Vernon Christine Minney: I had an incredibly positive experience with Animal Care Center from beginning to end. My Yorkie, Max, had a basic exam at an initial visit and both tech and vet were thorough, gentle and kind. The old pups teeth were in bad shape and he was scheduled into surgery for cleaning the following day! From both experiences, I felt Max was well taken care of and MOST importantly I did not feel judged poorly given the state of his teeth. Pleasant, compassionate, and informative was our encounter and Max is a MUCH happier dog!

I went unresponsive, from what I understand the response was immediate, thankfully I was revived and lived to tell the tale.
