5 /5 Gregg Sloate: I am a new patient at Overlake at Newcastle Commons as of April, 2024. I have already had several visits due to my medical issues, and feel very comfortable and good about going there.
My primary care physician, Dr. Gregory Maddox, does an excellent job. Hes clearly very knowledgeable and experienced, keeps up with the latest medical research, and as always, is easily capable of answering my questions, also takes the time needed to do so. He seems to genuinely care, and he also seems quite interested in educating; maybe thats in response to my obvious desire for education, but one way or the other, he provides all the information I am seeking. He is also quite cheerful and pleasant to deal with each time.
The nurses, medical assistants, and other support staff there also seem to be of high quality, medically knowledgeable, reply to emails fast, and are very pleasant and helpful. That extends even to the reception area people who check us in.
In fairness, this is the very first medical practice Ive been involved with since the advent of emailing with medical providers, where the doctor virtually never responds to emails sent specifically to him-- its nearly always a medical assistant or a nurse who replies-- which I dont like. But I have learned that its the cost structure that causes this to be necessary. Along these lines, the lab there seems a bit bare bones-- one even has to make an advance appointment just to get a blood draw done as per doctors orders-- but on the other hand, the results always come back fast, usually that same night.
Overall, Overlake Clinic at Newcastle Commons does a very good job, and I feel that my medical care is in fine hands there. Recommend highly.
