My dad brought our car in to be worked on, there was a problem with the passenger door that caused the window to stop rolling up, and the windshield wipers would slow to a crawl after around 20 minutes of use. They had the car for around three months then returned it to us, the windshield wipers had the same issue and they replaced a motor on the driver side door, which was working completely fine. I was assured by one of the mechanics that due to the inconvenience of them having the car for as long as they did they would be giving us a big discount, he pointed to the bill and said to me that he would be charging us around $350, they instead charged us over $900 which we paid. They insisted that they would fix the problems that still plagued the car upon initially returning it to us, so over the next four-ish months we waited for their calls they picked up the car twice and claimed all the issues were fixed, since then the passenger window has continued to be a problem and just recently stopped moving all together, and my dad replaced the motor in the windshield wipers himself so they work a little better now than when Petersons returned the car to us. The idea that this company "offers honest and reliable auto repair" is a complete joke. They will take advantage of you, run you around in circles, never call you with updates as you sit at home getting their answering machine over and over. They are dishonest thieves who employ shady business tactics to take advantage of locals. Though the owner is selling the business which hopefully will lead to a more competent mechanic moving in, I would never trust any of my automotive needs to Michael J. Peterson ever again, and I hope for the benefit of every driver on the Peninsula that he is retiring.

1 /5 Jeremy Fink: Absolutely the worst service shop ever been to. They broke exhaust manifold after I just got a new exhaust manifold 2 months prior. Then they charged me for that to repair it. Paid upwards of 18 thousand dollars for them to have supposedly rebuild the top of my engine, struts, all sorts of work. They had my vehicle since November and every single time they said it was done, I had to take it right back in as it was running worse than before it went into their shop. They not only caused mechanical damages, but they also caused bodily damages. This is now probably the 7th time it has gone into the shop.... I dont have the money to take it elsewhere at this point and they claim they will fix things under their warranty. However I know Im just going to have to take Michael Petersen and his right hand man Omar to court. Ive filed reports with the attorney generals office and I honestly feel that they are a front to launder money. So FBI has been spoken to about these guys as well. There are many reviews where it seems they are thieving from the community. Trust when I say this. Dont ever take your vehicles to this God forsaken shop. They are liars and thieves.

5 /5 Ynez X: Took my car to Petersens’ for my Ram 1500 running like I am towing. It’s a long story so I’ll get right to it. I ended up getting spark plugs done since my husband was driving to Spokane. While he was in Spokane, the truck was definitely not running right. My Ram was making a noise. He took the truck to Dishman Dodge and was told that a loose spark plug hit the piston and my engine was totaled. The cost for repair $16k. After many chat and conversation with Omar from Petersen’s, warranty company and Robert from Dishman Dodge, we were prepared to figure how to get a new truck. This is when Omar said they are going to pick up our truck and fix it. Granted they did the spark plug installation and cause this problem, I did not expect they were willing to grab a tow truck and tow it back to fix it. But they did. Omar drove to Spokane and got my truck. He actually fixed it and drove it back. Yes the spark plug did come loose and yes it did disable my truck but no I didn’t need a new engine like Dishman Dodge quoted. If I had $16k to spare for that repair. I would have wasted my $$. Omar also fixed my exhaust leak free of charge. He also as promised paid for the diagnostic work and credit me for other work they did on my Ford Focus. So yes it was stressful and cost us in hotel and rental car fees but they did make it up and for that I would be a customer and recommend them as a repair shop.

5 /5 mikayla kerker: I am not from Port Angeles and my car broke down about an hour away in the middle of nowhere. I called Petersens automotive to see if I can have my car towed there and if they could help me out with a solution since my check engine light came on. They were able to see my car same day and even let me pick up my keys next day on a Saturday to help me out and get me home! I am super appreciative of them and helping me out in a stressful situation!! Great service!!

5 /5 Lisa Maynard: I was looking for a repair shop to rely on. They took me in last minute, were very friendly and professional and met my needs for oil change and tail light repair. I definitely will be coming to Petersen’s automotive with future needs for my Subaru.
