1 /5 Debby H: Please do not use this company! Danger Danger! Hired them to install a fireplace insert. At first everything was good, they came on time and spent the day installing. As he was getting finished we noticed there was a plug going into a nearby socket from the fireplace. It was for the fan. We did not want a plug-in gas fireplace. He told us we would have to call an electrician if we didnāt want a plug. So we called an electrician and had it wired so the plug would not be outside of the fireplace on the wall. Second problem is that the fireplace face plate did not fit so he offered to have one custom-made. So far so good⦠but then, a few weeks later when we turned the fireplace on, the remote receiver overheated and an alarm went off and we could not shut the flame off, and we could not get the alarm to stop. My husband had to pull the bottom panel off and shut it off by hand. The technician had mounted the remote receiver underneath the logs and it overheated.
We tried calling to give him another opportunity to fix it but he didnāt return our call. We then left a message saying we wanted a refund on just the fireplace and that he could keep labor cost but he would not call us back. He apparently is inexperienced in this area and doesnāt quite know what he is doing. We will get a second opinion and depending on the answer may have to go to court over this since we cannot use the fireplace that we paid $3800 for
