1 /5 Faamaini Tuipala: About a week and a half ago, we requested an appointment for my daughter, to which one was scheduled, as we are concerned about some terrifying behavior that we were able to capture on video. My fiancé and I really like our daughters pediatrician, and our concerns were instantly heard, and a referral was written for my daughter to be seen at another hospital to get a test done, and we were told to wait one week before calling/checking the status of the referral, if we did not yet hear back from the referred hospital. The referred hospital called me this morning, and stated they had not received a received a referral, to which I then messaged my daughters doctor, through the health portal. I received a phone call from the women and childrens center, and they had told me an error was made when the referral was written by someone in the office for my daughter. They had not completed the correct paperwork for the type of test my daughter needs, therefore they had to rewrite a new referral today, and the woman I spoke with even admitted to not checking the referral paper written by her assistant and only did because of my persistence today. I am beyond livid and so is my fiancé. We are so worried about our daughter and her health and wellbeing and waited patiently throughout the week to get a call back from the referred hospital, only to find out someone made a mistake, and it wasnt even checked until today. My daughter needs this test done, and her health is being toyed with by people in office who dont care to check for errors and mistakes until you are pretty much demanding to get an answer, which even then, I did not once raise my voice or become angry with this woman over the phone, but I do find this completely unprofessional. I have no problem with my daughters pediatrician, she has always been very responsive and helpful when it comes to concerns about my daughter. What I do have a problem with is how this wait mightve affected my daughter if she were in a life-threatening condition.
