Virginia Mason Neurosurgery - Seattle
Jade Jones: 5 stars for Dr. Philip Louie and his team. I had a microdiscectomy earlier this year, and it was not only the most hands-on pre/post surgery care Ive received, but it was also quickly scheduled. Dr. Louie is a knowledgeable and reassuring doctor that I felt immediately comfortable making decisions between my care options.
Joelle Thomas, MD - Seattle
Taylor Beeninga: Dr. Thomas delivered our daughter in 2019 and was such a pleasure to work with. She has incredible bedside manner and helped explain everything to us in a way that helped us stay calm and relaxed (at least as calm and relaxed as you can be during labor)! She answered all of our questions, walked us through options, and when a decision needed to be made (and quickly), she was awesome at telling us what we needed to do and why. We cant thank Dr. Thomas enough and absolutely recommend her to anyone and everyone!
Swedish Epilepsy Center - Seattle
KR: We reside in Alaska. Our local neurologist referred our son to Swedish Epilepsy Center for video EEG not available in our state. We Googled Swedish Center alarmed at the lowly 2.5 star review status. Voicing our concerns, our established specialist, Dr. Tasha Powell offered glowing first person interactions with staff and care teams at Swedish Epilepsy Center. She stated she has had great feedback from patients who have visited Swedish Epilepsy as well as testified to their doctors excellence in communication with her. We were preparing a schedule, expecting we would have to routinely contact Swedish office to actually get to speak to a real person after reading reviews here. SHAME ON YOU WHO HAVE MISLEAD THOSE IN NEED. Within 24 hours we were contacted by incredibly friendly receptionist, who expertly informed of process and procedures. And made an appointment that is best for us. The team at Swedish Epilepsy Center are outstanding. A magnificent first introduction. There will be considerable arrangements needed when traveling for video EEG, due to our residential location. We feel absolutely confident in making the investment of time and resources visiting here.
Washington Physicians Health Program - Seattle
Philip: I had a challenging experience with the WPHP. They did not work with my insurance, which created significant financial barriers. I was required to undergo multiple evaluations and tests that I found expensive and difficult to afford. For example, I was referred for an assessment costing $4,000–$6,000, which required out-of-state travel. Additionally, the ongoing costs of monitoring, including weekly drug tests, totaled thousands of dollars annually, all out-of-pocket. When I expressed financial concerns, I felt the options offered were limited and insufficient to address my situation. While I applied for financial aid, the process did not result in meaningful assistance that made their recommendations feasible for me. I was referred to WPHP for professionalism concerns, not substance use, yet I was required to undergo drug testing during the intake process. This felt misaligned with my situation, and the recommended providers for evaluations were outside my insurance network, adding further costs. Overall, I struggled with the lack of alternative options and the financial strain imposed by their recommendations. This review reflects my personal experience and may not apply to others. I encourage anyone engaging with the WPHP to carefully evaluate the financial and logistical implications beforehand.
Ginger Blakeney, MD - Seattle
Cynthia W: FYI, this doctor is unwilling to perform basic womens health services: she would remove an IUD but not re-insert one. So either she is not skilled or doesnt believe she has an obligation to provide medical services that she objects to. Either way, if you are a woman, Id suggest finding another doctor.
Virginia Mason General Surgery - Seattle
Tracy Critchley: They need to have refillable water stations with ice. Take a clue from Tacoma General. Been here for hours now and I will not keep buying bottled water!! Besides the environmental impact and nearly 3$ a bottle!! Irritating
Overlake Clinics Concierge Care - Bellevue
Kay Hirai: I never have to wait more than a few days to make an appointment with my doctor. My doctor thoroughly researches what Im against and gives honest opinions and recommendations. The whole office gives excellent customer service. I always feel welcomed by caring people.
Bill Quach, M.D. - Bellevue
Kathryn: After my initial virtual meeting with Dr. Quach, I almost wanted to cry with relief. He listens, he respects the patients situation, he is knowledgeable and well-trained, as far as I can discern. He projects competence and concern. He is pleasant and humane. He is everything I could possibly want in a doctor. I see many positive reviews of Dr Quach and wondered how they could possibly be true and accurate. They are.
Swedish Issaquah Campus - Issaquah
Hunter Sheen (#SheenTV! #SeattleFreeze): This facility is so beautiful and open. And it doesnt feel busy except for a few offices. It feels like a hotel. The nurse had the best communication skills and kindly explained what to expect. Checking in was a breeze. Then they give you wrist band with your info on it like youre in the ER. Theres a lot of art hidden around the building and plenty of natural lighting although they dont have a ton of nature. Everywhere was clean and well organized and didnt look out of date. Ive heard coming to this emergency room is overpriced extremely. But all the visits Ive had here to the offices my insurance covers no problem. They have a fireplace, a garden, plenty of places to walk around or find a cozy little quiet corner. I would recommend just bringing your own food and snacks or stopping by Starbucks because their Cafe hours are hit and miss and not full of many options. The cafe also has sandwiches for over $10 which is insane because its a hospital and if you go to University of Washington sandwiches are under $4 for the same size and fresh quality.
Blessy Jacob, MD - Bellevue
