1 /5 Nalani Eoff: I had an appointment this morning for my baby girl, and we scheduled with the only pediatrician Dr. Helen Tatunay. I’m not sure of the nurse’s name who brought us into the room, but both the nurse and doctor were incredibly rude and demeaning. We got behind on my daughter’s vax schedule with the process of moving from Oregon to Washington, and were talked to as if we were neglecting our baby by both staff members. I was so angry, and both my husband and I had to bite our tongue’s the entire appointment. I also had to have the nurse re-measure my baby’s length because she would’ve shrunk an inch. My husband and I were both incredibly uncomfortable, and neither one of us had ever encountered such a judge mental atmosphere. We are not anti-vax, and wanted to do an adjusted schedule so she isn’t getting her vaccines all at once, in case she has a reaction. The Dr told us because of that she was unwilling to continue seeing us. If that’s her personal viewpoint, that’s fine, but the way we were treated was unacceptable. I do not recommend this pediatrician to anyone. Doctors should be welcoming and empathetic, not treating someone poorly because they don’t share the same viewpoints.
