She brought my curls back and gave me the color I wanted. She brought back my confidence and happiness!! The salon atmosphere was so welcoming and fun! She listens and just takes care of you! Plum Royal 10/5 stars. I’ve been a client of Jocelyn’s for many years, well over a decade. I should’ve posted this year ago, but here it is: this is your new salon home. Located at the side entrance of the building, there’s a small paid parking lot, but also lots of street parking for free on the streets, atmosphere is always kind, calm, friendly, and real. Jocelyn and Bravo are both experts in their field and their work together speaks for itself in the vibe of the shop. I’ve never had a bad haircut in Jocelyn’s hands, she had taken the time to learn my cowlicks and lifestyle. My hair is wash-and-go now and I’ve never had more compliments. All this, and her salon is warm and welcoming too. I will continue be a loyal client. Love you, your kind heart, and your mad hair skills, Jocelyn!

Carli Kitsch This salon is the best of the best in the area. All of the stylists are always welcoming and the salon atmosphere is inviting and not overwhelming. Ive been a client of Melissas for about 15 years and she is a wonderful individual and has great talent! I always get compliments on my hair from coworkers. If youre in the market for a new stylist, I woule highly recommend anyone at Refinery!

Kaitlyn Furnish Ashalina always makes me feel beautiful after doing my hair. Her warm spirit and talent is unmatched. If you are looking for a new hairstylist, she’s your gal. I will continue to come back to her again and again.

Maggi Ostrander LOVE this place! Suzanne Bunk is the absolute BEST!! I’ve been going to her for quite a few years now and not only do I consider her my stylist, I also consider her a friend! When I first started seeing her my hair wasn’t in the best of shape due to health reasons and not using the right products. Well, let’s just say Suzanne got my hair looking healthy again and she nails my Balayage every time! My daughter started going to Suzanne a couple years ago and also loves her. And teenagers are hard to please! Lol! Pics are of my daughters Balayage Suzanne did for her 16th bday. Suzanne made her feel so special that day!

Rosalia Watson Erin does my hair here, and has done it a few times. She does an incredible job and my hair always looks so good I feel like I’m wearing a wig “new hair, who dis?!” She is incredible at what she does and does not charge me an arm and a leg like other high end salons charge me for a similar service. Other high end salons have charged me upwards of $300 for a haircut, wash, color, style, and dry. Her rates are much more reasonable for me around $120. Highly recommend!

Jessi H I get my hair done by Erin, and she always does a great job and listens to what I want. Everyone that works there is very friendly. Its a comfortable place to get your hair done.

Ashley Alaniz I can’t tell you how amazing Michelle is!! I was with my hair stylist for 13 years & she hasn’t been able to get my highlights to the color I wanted and be able to keep my dark hair color!! Within 2 appointments, it is exactly how I’ve always imagined it! Not only is Michelle the best but her team is also so amazing! I highly recommend shades of beauty!! They’re all absolutely amazing and the vibe and personalities are even more amazing! Highly recommended!!!

Jasmin Tortice Very frustrating experience. I bought a groupon, was going to vegas and thought a change would be nice. First of I called several times before finally getting the owner to answer, when she did she said she was driving and to text her, that she would get back to me. I texted right away and heard nothing for a day and a half. I ended up calling again and she booked me several days out, I was scheduled to have my hair appointment 1 day before my vegas trip. About 5 days before my appointment I received a confirmation email, which I completed. Two days and the day prior to the appointment I also received appointment reminders, so to my understanding all set and ready to go. I show up to the appointment half an hour early I missread my time. When I arrived there was a lady waiting. Gets pulled back by my stylist while Im told to wait. When she finally comes to talk to me after getting her client set up she gives me a story that her husband has been in an accident and blah blah blah and shes trying to catch up with things. Although I was extremely upset given that I had all these confirmations and it was the day before my trip I did not show it and told her I understood and rescheduling was fine. She said she had tried to call me but must have "pressed the wrong numbers" I find that odd since I received not a single phone call yet all the notifications I received just fine. She said she wanted to give me "top priority" and would get me in right away, that right away was 1 week out. And again I received all my confirmations on the 2 and 1 day before my appointment. Im all set and ready to go and an hour before my appointment she calls me telling me shes sick and shes contagious. That she could have her daughter do it as well and we needed to reschedule. At this point Im beyond frustrated. Seems like if you have a groupon you arent priority probably because she makes less money out of us. I get it... life happens, but getting notified while Im sitting in the lobby or an hour before is just ridiculous. The excuses that she gave still allow plenty of time to let me know sooner. Im cutting my losses and considering this groupon trash. I am not going there.

kiesha Tymas Omg!!! Michelle was Ahhhh- MAZING!!!! She did my Brazilian and when I tell you it was the least painful (still somewhat painful) and fastest sugaring I’ve ever received. She made me feel very comfortable & talked me through it. She maintained my humility as I’m a thicker girl. She answered all my questions with knowledgeable responses. You can tell she is committed to providing exceptional customer service! I’ll definitely be returning and recommending Michelle. The price was fair and reasonable ! The salon offers so many services too that I wanna try!

Angie Cox I have been seeing Stephanie for about 10 years and have been very happy! The salon is beautiful. I love the new remodel! The colors and design fit the space perfectly. All of the staff is really nice. I always feel welcome!

Reinalyn Cassidy Kim, the owner of the salon has been doing my hair since 2016. I’ve gone through many phases of my hair and she has always delivered whether it be cut or color! The new Salon Hairspace is an absolute gem. The space just gives off good energy as soon as you step in. It’s fun and bright and all the stylist are so welcoming when you come in. Full of knowledge, great products and that sweet vibe. My husband is also a client with another stylist in the salon. Hairspace is a true Tacoma gem that has something for everyone!

Zara Lamey Blo Hair lounge is an amazing salon!! Best of the best. The owner, Kim is super knowledgeable about all things hair, one of the kindest, most genuine, down to earth person I’ve met. All of the stylists are top notch. The vibe at the salon is super chill, with a great view of Tacoma. I LOVE this salon, always feel so welcome here.

kryttyka Wow, Mia did an amazing job! I absolutely love the color, the cut, and the style. This was my first time dyeing almost 85% of my hair, and Im very happy with the results. The service was affordable and the Mia was incredibly friendly and gave me such a warm treatment. Ive been a loyal customer since 2020, and I just love going there!

Jessica Jahn As a new mom, I need to keep things simple! CC Hair Salon took my overgrown mess of a curly bob and turned it into beautiful curls bouncing just above my shoulders. Exactly what I asked for! Beautiful and easy to manage, so I can focus on my baby...not my curls!

Heremoni My lil sis nd I have been coming to see Mia for a couple of years now nd she neva disappoints. The roast of how damaged my hair I got from Mia is always our tea while goin through the process. Safe to say you’ll never get bored during your appointment. Not to mention the affordable prices with great services , I never went anywhere else for a redo , Mia have always done an impeccable job for me this is why CC hair salon will always be my safe choice.

Mari Barragan Chosen as always did a great job, she is the only reason we come to this salon. My son has recommended her to everyone he knows. He and his friends would follow her to whatever salon she is at. This last time, we needed a perm/cut on a specific day that didnt interfere with vacations and school, she connected us with Fabi who was able to take care of us on that specific day. Chosen is such a positive person, and you can tell she cares about her clients thats probably why she has so many. 5 Stars for Chosen Fabi did an amazing job. This was the first time getting a perm with her and he was very pleased. She took the time to explain everything to him. 5 stars for Fabi Yesterday was not the best experience we had at the salon. A woman in one of the rooms was cursing and berating Chosen in front of all the clients there. She apparently thought that Chosen was talking about her, but she wasnt, she was talking about salon set ups at this and other salons. Despite Chosen repeatedly trying to tell her to calm her down, and remind her that her attitude was unprofessional, the woman continued to harass her. Chosen did her best to mellow the situation, but the woman was out for blood. I can vouch for Chosen that she did nothing wrong, I was there and saw the whole thing. Not only were there kids in the salon, like chosen said they could have talked after. Chosen tried to play it off and apologized repletely to the clients although it wasnt her fault; the other woman kept on yelling and not once apologized for her behavior. The owner should let that woman go she clearly doesnt care about the reputation the salon gets. Chosen is the reason we came here; she is the reason we stayed and if the day comes when she isnt here that will be there reason we go. 1 Star for that awful woman

Greysen McLaughlin ! My son got a haircut and one of the other female workers was cussing his barber out during the hair cut. Only reason we came to bangs is for chosens cuts but the environment ruins the experience for him.

Lorelyn Mayr Rachel did a full haircut for me today- from long to just above my shoulders and I love it. I’d never been to this salon before so I knew it was a big ask! She was professional, personable, and really listened to what I wanted. The salon is really nice, has a great atmosphere and plenty of parking. I’ll definitely go back. I highly recommend Rachel and the salon.

Allison Yerby Set a curly haircut for 5:30 pm, stylist text me to move it to 6:30 pm. Totally not a problem. I get there she does a 10 minute consult - we go over inspo pictures and how it would translate on my hair type, length, and what was included in service. She says this service was $125 included cut, wash, deep condition treatment w/ heat cap device (unsure of exact name), and pointers on how to care for curls. This is when she asked me when I’d be scheduling my appointment, which was my understanding I confirmed the appointment for same day… she said her scheduling app did not account for the time it would take to do the service, but would squeeze me in anyway. I should have taken this as a sign! Giving 2 stars because I do feel like she is knowledge about curly hair and was SO sweet. HOWEVER - the haircut looks… not great. I left there looking like Shirley Temple when the intended look was a long, dimensional, choppy, shag haircut. She did not include the deep condition treatment. The price paid vs service offered was disproportionate.

Heather Mahler I absolutely love this studio! I go and see Katie for my color and she is beyond amazing! She always nails every look I’m trying to go for. What’s even more amazing is that everyone else recognize me even when I’m not their client and they all work together and help each other in perfect harmony! You will not be disappointed!

Elle Martin Jess is the best! My hair is freaking magical... just look at that in the sun?!?! Copper dreams. I left and immediately got a compliment getting into a car by someone moving across the street. You cant get better than that! The vibe of this salon is everything. Run. Dont walk.

Stephanie Batungbacal Styling styling styling! Nelly really knows how to take any head of hair...whether its thick, thin, frizzy, curly, or straight and turn it into a masterpiece! Not only did she do my hair for my daughter-in-laws wedding, but she also did the brides hair and many of the bridesmaids. All came out simply beautiful! Her attention to detail, the time she takes, and the patience she has is amazing. Truly a great overall hairdresser.

Angelamaria Martone I have been going to Nellie for almost 5 years. I have never been disappointed. Sometimes I dont know exactly what I want, but Nellie has great suggestion that fit me. The cut us always great, and believe me ive hadd so many different styles over the years. I just went today and the color and the highlights they blend right in . Made just for me. So if you want the most wonderful professional hairdo no matter what you need Nellie is your Stylist. You cant go wrong.

Kylie Lanthorn I’ve been coming here for four years, and never once has Nelly remembered me. My last haircut was so bad I won’t be coming back again. This last visit she said “you have so much hair next time ask for an hour” but she rushed me through a wash and cut in thirty minutes. As you can see in my video she cut the back really short when I had asked for long layers. It’s has made my hair extremely difficult to manage. When I got home there were also TWO long obvious pieces hanging past the rest of my hair she missed that I had to cut myself. I wish i had taken a picture it was crazy. Long story short, don’t come here. She is not personable, doesn’t take her time and made several mistakes on my hair.

Mica Everett-Larson Kas has cut my hair a few time now and I have been happy each time. This last cut was a bob and it was amazing! It grew out so well. I could often just wake up and wear. Maybe the best cut of my life. I don’t dye my hair, so I can’t speak to that. She is tactfully honest when giving feedback on potential hairstyles. I’m so glad I found her!

Emily Woodward Such a cozy salon housed in a preserved craftsman! Nestled between Proctor and Stadium neighborhoods, so it’s central to most in North Tacoma. Amazing and friendly stylists who are knowledgeable in contemporary cuts.

Vanessa Darling Very easy to find and felt welcoming. The shop is clean and has a breezy light vibe. Chelsea gives the best shmullets! She is friendly, communicated well and made me feel heard. I will be seeing her from now on, she is so worth the drive from Des Moines

Thats Tacoma As a classical musician I was already sold on this place because of the name lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ All jokes aside though this salon is fantastic! As a person that also has mixed textured hair it’s hard to find someone, especially new, I can trust with my long hair but Patricia absolutely nailed it. She did a wonderful job and totally made me feel beautiful. Highly recommend. The salon itself is professional and in a great location. The inside is spacious and lit extremely well since there’re a ton on big windows that also makes the place feel very open.

Hannah Zimmerman I have been having great experiences with Shannon for brazilian hair straightening. Always comes out super smooth. It lasts longer (6-9 months) than other ones I have had in the past. She has also given me great haircuts and balayage. Would definitely recommend!

Anna C Over the years I have found it very hard to find the stylist that can blend the highlights I want in my hair with such exactness. It matches my skin tone and I dont have to come in so often for maintenance since the root area blends well with the remainder of the highlights. Lisa Kelly is skilled at her profession and was incredibly courteous. I wouldnt hesitate too long to book with her because I can see her being one of those stylist thats booked out for weeks.

Yuliya Eaglin Loved my experience with Marci. Very pleasant, knowledgeable hairdresser/cosmetologist. Professional and attentive. From the first 5 minutes I was able to relax with confidence “I’m in good hands”. My hair is long and I’m very particular about how it looks. She blended my highlights into natural look. Danielle It was my first time meeting Marci today to get my hair colored and cut. She is super kind and made me feel very comfortable. Teresa Mccoy This salon is beautiful and i really NEVER trusted anyone with my hair. When getting hair extensions, its important to make sure your stylist is experienced and certified. Coretha is so welcoming and really takes her time to answer any questions. Its amazing the compassion she has for her line of work, & the way she cares about her clients and the integrity of every hair type. . Not to mention The products used smells aaaaamazing! Coretha is so beautiful and so fun to talk too, she literally walks every single person out to their car when finished to make sure their safe…. Absoultely just the SWEETEST!!!!! Thank you sooo much!!!!!
