Kevin Niewoehner Had truck trouble on a Sunday going from Federal Way to flathead lake. All the repair shops said they had a 3-4 wait due to the high volume of traveler breakdowns. So I dropped my yukon off at independent auto repair, fully expecting to go in debt. They got me in on the second day. I was so pleased to see diagnostic tools and testing equipment. They found a cracked spark plug. That was the cause of my problem. They also found a performance issue and corrected it. Truck runs so much better now. The owner and the manager were the best people you could meet. The costs were decent industry standards. Makes you really appreciate great people in a great town. If you can be patient, this may just be the best repair shop youll ever go to.

Chris Castro Hands down terrible service. I wanted to love this shop as they seemingly are good. However this is a list of things that went wrong when I was serviced by them. They took my splash pan off and never put it back on, I know for sure it was on before. They over filled my oil luckily not leading to any issues but could have. Their parking is so terrible that their supply truck hit my car and they showed little remorse or aided with my insurance claim. They took double the amount of time to fix one of my issues, said it was fixed but it wasn’t. So I went back to them to fix the issue and they forecasted a week to get it done but then it took two weeks without any explained reason. Lastly they simply had bad customer service and poor communication, such a shame that a small business would act so poorly to its customers.

Werent afraid to let me know how serious (or not serious) it was, and even went so far as to give me some pointers when I considered doing the work myself; shows real integrity. Quinton Yingling DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY... ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE OUT OF STATE!!!! If you ignore my warning then at a minimum keep all communication with them through emails. To anyone wanting more information you can find me on Facebook They refuse to give me any info about where parts came from and when, no receipts for parts used, except some bogus one that she made, showing no information. Even the warranty isnt even real. Called and my name isnt in the system, nor karrakers. I am a 100% disabled veteran that lives out of his van, karrakers knew this before taking my van and keeping it for 5 months At the end of July I had to get my 2006 sprinter van towed to karraker mechanical solutions because my engine overheated and blew, an issue I knew it had and now assume there was an internal blockage in the coolant system. They were the only shop able to see us on short notice and get a diagnosis the same day, which should have been my first red flag. They said they found a replacement engine and required payment up front for the engine and parts so I obliged. I would like to add that I know how to work on this van and have replaced the last engine in it myself in a gravel parking lot, so Im well aware what needs to happen to work on this. If I hadnt had a serious injury to my knee with stitches from an accident I had two days prior to my engine blowing. If it wasnt for this and the fact that Im from PA, I would have done this job myself They said they wouldnt be able to work on it till mid September which I didnt see as a problem because they said the engine was 3 weeks out anyway. AT NO POINT DID THEY TELL ME THEY WOULDNT BE ABLE TO WORK ON THE VAN TILLNOVEMBER! LET ALONE DECEMBER! I cant stress enough how much I would have said no to this. I live in the van because I like to be away from people. This forced me to eventually have to stay in Seattle for almost two months while waiting, this is the exact opposite of what I like and caused me a great deal of stress. Once mid September came along I called and called with no response, and when I did get ahold of them there was ALWAYS an excuse as to why they couldnt work on it yet. This dragged on until December when they finally started working on it. And they replaced my turbo which I asked them to have rebuilt since it was basically brand new, they ignored this and claim I never said anything. They kept feeding me sympathy stories to pray on my kindness, which they mistook for weakness. They would not let me see the van, or even the engine. I was not even allowed to talk to Mike karraker who was the mechanic, they wouldnt even let me see him. At a certain point towards the beginning of October I told them I was going to fly back to Washington and take the engine to do it myself, as my leg had healed significantly. They refused and said I could not have the engine even though I payed for it already. I believe they wouldnt let me do this because they did not have an engine to give me. I believe they took my money on August 5th and lied to me about having a motor lined up, they then Dragged me through the mud of lies until they could find one for cheap. The vin they gave me for the motor I later tracked down to a vehicle that was sold at an auction in Illinois in mid October. Definitely NOT August 5th like they had told me. I eventually got the van back just days before Christmas and had to spend the holidays at a rest stop instead of PA because they didnt go over anything on this motor and I had a bad oil cooler, something any good mechanic would check on an engine thats been sitting for years. I also have black death from my injectors because they didnt even replace the seals, which is easy when they allegedly had the engine out of the van for months. Even if Im wrong then they at a minimum are not good mechanics as these were simple things to check before sending someone on a 2500 mile road trip with an engine that sat around for years. This guy managed to come out on very short notice, get the problem fixed, showed me how to do it myself for next time, and all in a very short time for a great price. And even did a check in the next day to make sure I got there ok. He did an incredible job and was very kind. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area!

miriam ledwith I had what used to be called a fender bender, when cars were better made, while visiting my family in Seattle. The engine seemed fine but the driver side bumper and all the panels that it was connected to was very badly mangled. I wasted a week in Seattle trying to get it fixed there.But after 8 days of no information, mis-nformation, and bad information, I had it long hauled to Pro Star in Eburg, where I had had a great job on a non-insurance issue taken care of 6 years ago. Justin and Staci had my back with the insurance company. They called me twice a week. Justin sent me photos of the damage and photos of the parts. The parts were ordered 3 days after the car arrived, painted the next week and I had a brand new looking car back in exactly 13 days. It would have been 10 days but we were waiting for the INSURANCE critters to call back.When Justin was busy, Staci walked me through stuff. Everything she told me was accurate and true. Five stars are not enough.

Laura Hanson Had an engine rebuilt amongst other repairs. A big job. Afterwards we had some issues. When we called to ask advice the mechanic was not at all interested in the discussion. Also, they left check engine lights on. Not feeling good about the way things ended. Bummer

George May I took my ‘95 4Runner in to get a water pump replacement job finished up after I had started the project myself. Every single other shop within 30 miles told me they wouldn’t touch my rig because I had attempted to fix it myself first. Cami and Bill were the only ones who were willing to fix my rig. The bill ended up being more than I had originally anticipated, however that is completely to be expected considering they had to backtrack my own work in order to do it right. Would highly recommend Hosmer’s.
