3 /5 Arigin Sakda: Roe is beautifully designed. It’s a very cute spot but quite lively and noisy. The food is fresh and fun. The service did not start out great though but at least ended much better. I asked the hostess if it were possible to sit at the open tables on the right side. My partner has a bigger shoulder frame so I wanted our date night to be comfortable for him. We also had reservations. I was told no—as they are reserved for larger parties and will be for a larger party. She gave us two options. We could sit in a small table in a small space in the middle between two parties or at the kitchen high top counter. I totally understand that and would have been fine but their statement was inconsistent with their actions. Shortly after a couple came in, they seated them where I requested. After that another couple was seated in that same area. All different parties. So if you can imagine I wasn’t elated with the inconsistent statement. I asked my server if they could move me so I could at least be closer to my luggage as it was stored by that area. He made it happen and honestly that made a difference and made the experience much better. There was more open space for my partner to sit comfortably. I really appreciate our server making an effort. I could tell the hostess looked surprised after I was seated at that section but appreciated that she was professional in our interactions. My feedback is to be consistent and transparent with a feedback loop if needed. That would be appreciated.
Anyway some favorite dishes were the gnocchi, oyster with mignonette, and fries. The nuggets with caviar were interesting. We weren’t a fan of the baby cakes or the butternut squash dish. Drinks were solid. We did still get a gift card to give as a gift since the space is pretty and the food was fresh. I think I would come back but not in the restaurant area and probably only at the bar lounge section.
