yubo li Jovial Studio is hands down the best hair studio I’ve been to nationwide! Eric is incredibly patient and brings a unique combination of aesthetic vision and creativity to every session. I’ve tried many studios in major cities like DC and LA, but Eric’s work stands out above them all. Plus, he has the cutest dog in the studio, which adds to the peaceful and relaxing vibe. Highly recommend for anyone looking for exceptional service and a top-notch experience!

Sandra Ye Qing Jiang Eric is amazing at making sure your cut is exactly how you want it AND also at providing helpful suggestions that go with your face shape and hair texture. I’ve gotten my hair cut by him 3 times so far and each time I’ve gotten so many compliments from random people on the street. Also, the way Eric cuts the hair last a lot longer meaning the cut looks fresh for multiple months even when it’s growing out! I’d highly recommend Eric (also his massage hair washing chair is AMAZING!)

Jessica Chen Eric is the best barber I have ever met in this area. He always knows what kind of haircut fits you well. Also, he can do amazing hair coloring. Just give him a picture of the hairstyle you want, and he will never let you down.

Paracetamol I’ve been doing my hair styling with Eric since 2020, and having all my trust in his opinions and techniques. But what I want to mention more is those little extras you receive in the studio - message chair when washing your hair, tea and cookies while waiting, cozy music/atmosphere and amazing interior decors. Sometimes I need to stay a little longer in the studio after the haircut because of my other appointment later nearby, I was always welcomed and even able to have my work done here. Highly recommend if you also value superb services.

Jane Li The studio is beautifully decorated, clean and smells lovely. The massage bed is an extra bonus. Best of the best, Eric has a very good fashion taste and the service is most likely to be 1:1. He is very skilled and always so patient. I will always go to Eric for my hair..

Jenna Norma brought movement back into my hair. She has the ability to tailor a cut that is individualized by taking into account your hair type, head and face shape, and your daily hair care routine. She is very personable. Ava Wilde Bendicion salon is the best salon ever. I am not kidding when I tell you that I have never had better days with my hair after I started going to Norma! Not only is she amazingly talented but she is a wonderful, beautiful, big hearted person that gives the already great hair experience a comfortable and friendly feeling! I am never anything but impressed and loving my new hair after every appointment! This girls got talent like I’ve never seen!

Rafia Ali Norma is amazing! So glad I came across this salon and will continue to let Norma work her magic on my hair. She is incredibly patient and spends every minute of the appointment making sure her client is happy and most importantly comfortable. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Layne Harris Georgia is amazing! I keep my hair cut into some version of a long or short pixie, and Georgia never disappoints. She listens to me describe what I want, she looks closely at photos I bring, and she’s honest with me about what my hair will and won’t easily do. She only recommends products that I end up loving. I ALWAYS love my hair when I leave my hair appointment. I’ve been going to her for years and have recommended her to so many friends who have ended up loving her too. I also just get stopped by strangers asking who cuts my hair! I cannot recommend Georgia enough for anyone who wants a pixie/short hair pro!!!

Elly McKenzie I’ve gone to multiple hair stylists here (mine that was here retired so I have been checking the other ones out). They are all really personable & efficient. It’s hard to find people who understand how to cut curls so this place & these stylists have been a fantastic find!

Mel Christen I have to admit that I am super picky about my hair cut and for decades now, I will go home after a haircut and “fix” the cut to get it to where I want it to be. I find things that are not symmetrical, or not trimmed enough. However, after EVERY SINGLE ONE of the haircuts I have gotten with Suzy, I never have to touch it. It’s perfect every time. The salon is so pretty and they really know how to make you feel welcome like you are a guest. Book an appointment and see how pretty Suzy can make your hair.

Trinh Chung Kathy is the best stylist I’ve ever had! She truly listens, understands my vision, and executes it flawlessly. She even provides helpful feedback and takes into account my hair type and face/neck shape to adapt my desired style. Every visit is fantastic! Her precision, creativity, and knowledge really sets her apart from other stylists Ive had. My hair always looks and feels amazing, and I get so many compliments! At every opportunity I get, I always tell people to come to Salon 44 to see Kathy. Plus, her warm personality makes every appointment enjoyable.

Victoria Trinh I am very particular about how my hair is cut and finding a stylist that understands my vision. I have long, straight, Asian hair that requires someone that knows how to cut and style it in a flattering way that doesnt cause split ends or damage. If you are a person that falls into this category, I highly recommend stopping by Salon 44! Every experience I have had has been professional, thoughtful, and thorough. The staff are welcoming, the space is clean, and I always leave feeling like I just met with a great friend.

Keaton Dooley After moving from Seattle to Kirkland, I was on the hunt for a salon that is close to me, has fair market prices, and good quality work. I landed on this salon, and Im so glad I did! Tee has done an amazing job on my haircut both times Ive visited. She gave me exactly what I asked for, and she is easy to chat with, which makes my visits a fun experience! Added bonus-- they offer free garage parking, taking all the stress of a parking hunt away.

Susie Garcia I found my go to place to get my hair done, after postpartum I needed to cut my unhealthy hair. The salon staff was very welcoming, I went with my husband and my 6 old month baby. I felt so welcome and Andy was my hairstylist. He did a great job and did exactly what I asked for, it felt nice to finally feel pretty again. I will be coming back for sure.

King Chen First timer at this Salon. Not usually the type to go to these fancy hair salons but I do not regret it one bit. This was my first time so it was a bit scary. The salon was very welcoming upon entering, the decor was refreshing and the stylist seemed like true experts. All in all, the ambience and vibe just screamed high end with true professionals. Tee was my hairstylist and she was so kind, knowledgeable and patient during the hair consultation. I told her exactly what I wanted -a perm and style- and she delivered exactly what I wanted. Each step of the perm, she made sure I was comfortable, answered every annoying question I had, and even gave me advice on aftercare for the hair and what products to use. I’ve received many compliments at work already due to the outstanding work Tee has done to my hair. Will definitely book another appointment here again!

Joanne Turnbull Lindsay is the best!! She’s been my stylist for several years now and she definitely has the magic touch when it comes to all things hair. She is very knowledgeable about color and super talented with such a gentle touch when it comes to cuts and styling. I’ve never been disappointed and my husband always raves about my hair when I get home. And to top it off, Lindsay is the sweetest, most wonderful girl!! Joe, the owner of Joe Bae, and his lovable dog are a joy to know! He has created a fabulous salon and filled it with kind, creative humans. As I venture forth in my next chapter of life in California, I shall miss this shop and most especially Lindsay.

Anjolie Ackerman Mara at Joe Bae is amazing!! As someone who is very particular about what kind of blonde color I want, Mara nailed my dream color in an instant. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the receptionist and asked if I would like anything to drink. Once Mara came out to grab me, she took me to her chair and we started chatting about what I love vs what I don’t love. I truly appreciated the fact that Mara took the time to ask me many in depth questions to ensure that we get the result needed. Then, Mara got her color mixed all up and good to go to start! Immediately starting my services, Mara made it a point to ask me occasionally if there was anything that I needed. After we rinsed out my hair, she asked me whether I would prefer my hair dried straight or curly. After my time with Mara was over with, I checked out at the receptionist desk, and the receptionist thanked me for coming in and told me that she appreciated me! All around, this has by far been my most favorite and comfortable salon experience.

Bailee Pultz So I wanted to start off with I haven’t stepped foot in a salon since my last horrifying experience in 2018 other than for a haircut. This is the first POSITIVE experience I’ve had in 7 years. I cannot sing Mara’s praises enough. She had to do a color correction and was so informative and professional, she managed to get so much of the black box dye out, and I decided I liked the copper my hair lifted to. At that point she worked her magic and mixed color up to even it all out and it turned out BEAUTIFUL. She was so sweet and extremely talented. She listened to what I liked and didn’t. She is now my go to, I will make the trip from Seattle for all hair needs. Not to mention the salon staff are amazing and accommodating, the salon is absolutely beautiful and the owners dog is the cutest and sweetest boy.

Lucia Valle I LOVE THIS PLACE, IT IS MY NEW GO-TO HAIR SALON!! Danna cut my hair in gorgeous layers and gave me some copper highlights, it was a 10/10 experience! Everyone at the store is super sweet and polite, and they gave me some really good coffee. I highly recommend going to Joe Bae Salon, and if you can you should request Danna she will give you the exact haircut you ask for and will make really good conversation with you! Can’t wait to come back here

Leira Vanessa Perez I usually expect a hair stylist to just go for it whenever I present a photo sample, but one of the hairstylists I booked with was open and honest about the best person for the job I presented. I met Avian and was surprised with her process of getting to know me before styling my hair. It felt very personalized and it was definitely effective. She was clearly very experienced and really knows was shes doing because I had one of the best hair cuts Ive ever had.

Jessica Kent This was my first time coming here. I came in with hair that was previously cut straight across with no layers. I wanted some long blended layers but after coming home I realized the layers are quite uneven and one side is much longer than the other side, with the front being longer than the back... -- Update, they offered to have my hair recut by a different stylist and it turned out so much better than the first time and Im really happy with the new haircut. I moved away from home and have been putting off getting my hair cut for far to long. when you find your soul stylist it’s hard to let another touch your hair. Gigi Prabhakaran Sara has consistently done an amazing job with my hair, Ive seen her for two haircuts and a couple maintenance bang trims, and Im always happy and satisfied with the results. The prices are also very reasonable at this salon for the quality of the service, especially compared with other salons in the area. Highly recommend!

Selena Riley Ti is a master of his craft, he is so skilled and takes careful consideration of his clients. It was such a pleasant experience. The studio is very chic and has free parking! They do hair, nails, wax and massage. Can’t wait to be back, thanks Ti!

Niyathi Rao Bandla Ti is one of the best hair stylists I’ve been to! I have very thick and wavy hair, and went to Ti with overgrown layers. Ti did an amazing job in not just cleaning up my layers but also giving me an awesome cut! And for a very reasonable price! This place is a hidden gem! Highly recommend it!

Juhi Gelda I had a great experience with Binh for my eyebrow, upper lip, and chin wax. She did an amazing job shaping my eyebrows - they look perfect! The whole process was quick and clean. She is also super friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better.

Grace van Herk I loved Ti! I’ve been looking for a go-to hair stylist since we moved back to Seattle 4 years ago and I’ve finally found him! Ti is the first person to get my hair exactly they way I asked! The movement and volume in my hair is sooo good after the haircut(see video)! And the 3rd picture is me styling it by myself at home (I’m sharing it because my qualifications for a good haircut is that it needs to look good when I style it too, not just when a professional does it)

Venkatesh Ramoju I have a thick and unruly hair, which made finding a good hairstylist in the USA a real challenge. However, this salon in Bellevue has been a remarkable discovery. The stylist, Ti, has been exceptional in managing my hair. Ive had my hair cut multiple times here. He really listens and understands how to work with my hair type, delivering exactly what I want every time. Its incredibly rare to find someone who can handle thick, unruly hair so well. I recommend this place. Truly a five-star experience through and through!

And that’s all without saying how great my hair turned out! I’m booked and ready to be back!

Luna Hagmayer I had a great experience with Julie. I came in with blonde inspiration photos and partially damaged hair. She was very thorough with the consultation, which I really appreciated. She took great care to keep my hair healthy and not over process. It feels so soft and the color is really pretty. I believe the services I got were a full highlight and haircut. We plan to do another session to go even lighter. It can be hard to find a stylist you fully trust to take care of your hair, understand your vision, and fulfill it. Julie did all of those things! She is also lovely to talk to and was happy to give a head massage at the shampoo bowl. If you get the chance to visit House of Hebe I would highly recommend Julie, just don’t book her out too far; save some slots for me! Lilly Jones The business itself seemed clean and nice enough, but the stylist I saw did not give me the cut I asked for. I showed her 4 pictures of the style I wanted and she ended up cutting WAY too much of my length off and the cut I ended up with was not anything I asked for. Cant even get my hair into a ponytail now to hide this mess. SO UPSET!!

Ice Qu Modern salon, good location, plenty of parking. My appointment to get a new hair style took less than an hour with an extremely brief, desultory shampoo and a snip snip snip. Moments later when the assistant took over to finish up, I was uncomfortable with the rugged methods used for hair drying and styling. While I left there with a decent look, it faded in 30 minutes, maybe because it was a very warm day. Would I return? Well, I feel that I am not in the target demographic for this salon, so I will keep searching. However, for the right client, this might be just the place.

Ariana Lau Shaina is absolutely fantastic. Shes a balyage and color guru. Ive seen her for over 8 years and she never lets me down. Go see her for color, cuts, extensions, blow outs, and more. Not only is she a great stylist, but shes hilarious and beautiful. 10 stars for Shaina! Molly and Melissa are great too. The salon is super chic and comfortable too.

Samantha Williams Susan did an excellent job cutting my thick, textured hair. She is really skilled at what she does and took the time to go back and make adjustments to get the cut just perfect. Shes also super friendly and easy going and the salon itself is a really welcoming and bright environment. I will definitely be back!

Christi Susan is so kind and the best stylist for my long, thick hair! She first helped me fix a botched haircut that grew in unevenly and gave me tips for taking care of it. I’ve been going for about 2 years now and love my haircut every time.

Ice Qu Decided to try this salon for the convenient location and good reviews. Booked online appt. with Jayme and it was not only easy but helpful because I signed up for reminder texts. In todays busy world, this is so excellent! Arrived at the salon and opened the door to a mostly square working space that is divided into sections by freestanding cabinetry. By the door are two waiting chairs and the reception stand. To the right, just behind that, there is hair washing station. Farther back is a place to hang coats as well as a powder room. The rest of the space is for hairdresser stations. Color scheme is brown and black, a bit dark but makes sense because there are basically windows all around. Summer can make it very bright. Jayme did a quick consultation and then came the shampoo. She is really good at that! I feel like my hair and scalp are still singing from the gentle lathering. All fresh and clean, she proceeded to give my hair the trim I had asked for on this visit. She had used a very good conditioner, I must say, because for once I didnt need to cry "Ouch!" A miracle! I had asked for a simple straight cut and she did a great job. At the completion she wanted to use those texturizing shears on the ends and I decided to say yes to that since I plan on getting my hair shorter soon anyway. (Note that normally I would have said no because I think barber scissors can do a better job.) Anyway, she did dry my hair nicely and finished off any flyaways with a flat iron, which I thought was very nice. The experience was definitely positive. Why not 5 stars, then? Well, this is a neighborhood salon, after all, not a posh spa salon, so I dont want to give that impression. More importantly, would I return? Yes, I would, and I would probably be so bold as to ask for precisely what I want, because Jayme is a very down to earth and approachable person, and she would be up for that. Note: A cancellation policy that includes a cancellation fee is in place. Youll want to read up on it or ask about it when you book, and be okay with it. Remember they are selling an ephemeral service here, so it seems appropriate to respect that so the shop can stay in business.

Nancy H New to the area and was very nervous because my hair is very fine/thin tough to cut and I’ve had a ton of terrible cuts /colors throughout my lifetime! I saw Jayme Noh and she clearly knows hair. Spent a good amount of time consulting about what I wanted and what I needed. She was great. Love my cut/color. I like the salon too. Not fancy but comfortable, plenty of parking, no hassles, and priced just right. I recommend!

m v 25 Was really looking forward to getting a haircut for my mom, I had googled specifically for people who specialized in short hair. I had to call multiple times but was able to get a last minute appointment, we were late because my mom had finished chemo not too long ago so her body is a little slow. Tried to call and explain our time constraints, completely understand when people don’t have Front Desk and it’s the holidays. But Jamie kept saying it is “MY loss” when I feel a little empathy and understanding would have helped. Not the principal that we lost the appointment, I understand as a fellow small business owner, but a little human compassion goes a long way. We lost as well, I explained to her that this was my mom’s first cut post transplant. Fortunately we found somewhere else locally that took us and at half the cost.

Ying Du Xiaowu was my hairstylist and he took care of my hair. He was very patient to communicate my expectation of length, style, and other needs. The outcome was super close to my ask. Overall hair cut experience was smooth and chill.

Jon Kim The haircut was very good! They didnt speak english at all but we were able to communicate with Google translate. I will be coming back if I have an urgent need with a high standard, but wouldnt be a regular customer because of the price.

Emily Chu Haircut with Kenneth this afternoon was great. He paid close attention to detail and gave good recommendations while creating the haircut I described to the best of his ability. Love the final result! Previous hidden dye job with Yan was a great experience as well- he took the time to explain every step of the bleaching process, and the dyed hair has now faded to a nice soft blonde. Overall friendly, trustworthy stylists:)

Nicole Leung Ken is the best hairdresser I’ve ever had. He is the only hairstylist me and my husband would trust! He pays incredible attention to detail, ensuring every cut is precise and suits you perfectly. Even months after the layers he cuts grow out beautifully and maintain their shape, which is a testament to his skill. I’ve never had a haircut that stays looking great for so long. Highly recommend Ken if you’re looking for a meticulous and talented stylist!

Linda Lei I was looking for Goldwell Elumen salon specifically and on Goldwell’s website, they highly recommend Square Roots Salon. Their website lists their hair stylists’ profiles and I found Jaimee who has extensive experience with Goldwell. When I arrived at the salon, she greeted me with a very warm smile and positive energy. She offered me a nice cup of coffee and then started hair consultation with me. She gave me lots of her advice on the latest Goldwell products and colors. She was so well prepared that she made sure the color didn’t get onto my clothes nor my skull. She even gave me a very soothing skull massage during the wash. The best part is that she listened to me very carefully to all of my needs: she made sure all my white hairs are now colored. She also gave me a refreshing beautiful hair cut. She also recommended hair products for me to keep the color more long lasting and vibrant. I am extremely lucky to have found Jaimee as my new favorite hair stylist. Thanks you so much, Jaimee!

Chai Laguna Price is affordable compared to other salon but then my hair color did not turn out good. I got what I paid for.

Lisa Voss Leydi did a fantastic job cutting my hair based on the photo I showed her. She is warm, open and friendly. I have been in the greater Seattle area for 12 years and I finally found my hair stylist. She charge reasonably and doesn’t push for any products sell. She knows how to cut Asian hair too. Overall great experience!!

anuradha desarkar Highly recommended for hair cutting. I got my hair cut here from Ivy and she’s highly skillful and patient. My hair layers was pretty damaged as I couldn’t cut it for a long time. But Ivy could get me my previous layered hair style very nicely. She always kept on checking about hair length, style, etc. The place was very clean and tidy. As I didn’t book a prior appointment, I waited for 5-10 minutes. I’m going back definitely and I highly recommend this place and Ivy to others as well.

Jeanie Pham Ivy was kind, professional, and had 15 years of experience in the industry. My hair was very damaged and she gave me a beautiful cut that wasnt too short, and checked in with me before cutting the hair. Im grateful to find a haircut place in my area esp for asian hair!!

I was able to make an appointment on short notice on a Sunday, and then they called me back when a closer opening became available. I appreciate that attention to detail with their customer service.

Tiffany Wong Yuna gave me the best haircut I’ve had in years. I’ve been trying different salons in the Seattle area for 8+ years, and Yuna & this salon stood out as the best by far. She took plenty of care & attention to detail in cutting my hair that other salons skipped. She double/triple checked my haircut & layers to make sure they were even, light enough to have movement, and still full. Excited to see this haircut grow out well & to have found my new go-to salon!

Jasmine I had a haircut with Yuna and she was amazing. She took consideration of my hair type and adjusted the photo I showed to compliment my face shape. The salon itself is also very clean. I would say this is probably the best place to get your haircut if you have Asian hair.

Julia Bao Be aware they may treat you in their best. However, if you mention or question sth that you are not comfortable or satisfied, regarding to the price vs service. They immediately showed Passive Aggressive customer service attitude, especially the front lady. Be specific, I booked an appointment with the master hair stylist, who just asked me what kind of color you want to dye, then walked away like forever. Let his assistant do it entirely. Really disappointed by his unprofessional attitude. Eventually, I mentioned/ complained this bad experience. And, the front lady who simply replied “if you are not satisfied with our service, then don’t book appointment with us.” Speechless, she is right. Cannot agree with her anymore!

Ann Roswell Hawk is the best hairstylist I have ever had! He is amazing. He has been cutting my hair for 6 years and I followed him from Seven Salon to his new location. I never get less than four or five compliments on my hair per week. I work in the beauty business so it is important that I look and feel chic and professional and I ALWAYS do when Hawk is finished with me! I travel a lot for my job, my schedule is always unpredictable, but I have always been able to make fairly last minute appointments. And, my hair continues to look perfect as it grows out-really important to me when I don’t have a lot of time! Trust me, this is the best haircut you’ll ever get! Can’t recommend Hawk highly enough!

Caitlin Sciscoe Michael transformed my confidence with one haircut. No exaggeration. Hes truly an artist, and did such a great job of creating a style that complimented my face shape and also worked with my hair type.
